Hanmi Gallery is pleased to announce Geum Minjeong’s exhibition <What Alice Found there> will be showing at Gyeongnam Art Museum in Changwon Korea, from 9th June – 24th Aug 2016. In this exhibition, her new works including ‘A Room of Meditation’ will be exhibiting as part of group exhibition. The exhibition title is inspired by Lewis Carrol’s novel titled, ‘Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There’.

Guem Minjeong has been engaged in site-specific video installations, in which she finds a place that will turn into a work of art, films the site and then installs this video work there. She presented an extension of her existing artistic style by working on video-installation and video-sculpture in which new spaces were created with video clips that visualized psychological experiences and emotions of the spaces. 한미갤러리 작가 금민정의 전시<앨리스가 그곳에서 발견한 것> 가 6월 9일부터 8월 24일까지 경남도립미술관에서 열립니다. 이 전시는 금민정 외 7 명의 그룹전시로, 금민정 작가의 작품은 특별전시실에 전시될 예정입니다. 작가는 전시 장소의 특성을 꼼꼼하게 파악하고 건축적 구조의 요소나 디테일을 살려 작가만의 감각이 녹아든 공간으로 바꾸는 장소 특정적인 영상작업을 하고 있습니다. 건조하고 딱딱한 느낌의 전시실 벽은 그의 작업으로 숨을 쉬고 움직이며 무한히 확장되는 공간으로 새롭게 태어나 초현실적인 분위기를 연출합니다.

루이스 캐럴(Lewis Carrol, 1832-1898)의 환상 소설『거울나라의 앨리스(Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There)』(1871)의 원제에서 제목을 일부 차용한 이 전시는 동화적 상상과 꿈, 환상과 공상을 모티프로 삼아 앨리스가 거울나라를 모험하듯 다채로운 작품들 속에서 미술적 유희를 체험하는 전시입니다. 더 많은 정보
