Sarah Pager

Oscillating between sculpture, conceptual installation and performance, Sarah Pager’s work examines questions of perception and the apprehension of physical reality. She works by hacking into an objects identity, drawing out the anthropomorphic elements that are already present. Her work references the body and bodily processes and transcends the modest materials used to construct theatrical environments that demand the viewer’s engagement with the complexities presented. Rejecting any physical representation of the whole body, she chooses instead to focus on its fragments processes, traces and perceptions.

Pager received her MAFA from Goldsmiths in 2014 after completing her postgraduate diploma at Chelsea College of Art and has exhibited in contemporary art venues across London.
