Jinwook Moon

Such apathetic role of semiotics and language become Moon’s ultimate motif towards his works. Moon allows viewers to develop their own connotations and relationship within the subjectivity of sign and linguistics. The works are relative to today’s contemporary politics, literature and philosophy. Moon interrogates what it feels, to not be able to read literal texts in contemporary artworks. His artistic approach pushes the boundary of somwhat current impulse of contemporary art, which arguably involves a notion of sign, text, language and etc. Born ansd raised in South Korea, Moon came to England to pursue his artistic educational goals. Some of his works foretell his influence from Korean media, news and its distinctive visual traits.

Jinwook Moon is a recent graduate from Goldsmith’s college M.A (2013). He has participated in a group show with Hanmi Gallery and continues his journey as an emerging and invigorating artist.
