Eun Sook Choi

Korean artist Eun Sook Choi’s paintings explore the space between familiarity and strangeness through an alchemy of iconography, visual experience and the fluid language of painting. Specifically, Sook Choi Eun claims to be excited by the duality of a stage that holds both openness and closure. She believes that those two different aspects of personal space generate strange alliance and create a landscape of imagined psychological personal space in her painting, allowing space for new possibilities in relation to her intention. Her works were exhibited at part of the 27th Interim Exhibition: Slice at Hanmi Gallery London in the winter of 2013, which embraced painting in its multiplicity of forms.

Eun Sook Choi received her BA from the Department of Fine Art, Chung-Ang Univeristy, Seoul, South Korea and her post graduate diploma and MA from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, London. She currently lives and works in London and has exhibited throughout the UK, alongside partaking in exhibitions internationally, such as at 12 The Boat of 2012: Annual Nomination Exhibition, Today Art Museum, Beijing, China (2012).
