<한미갤러리–서울>에서는 ‘에너지’를 세상의 구조를 파악하는 방법으로 작업화하는 윤성필(Sungfeel Yun) 작가의 전시를 주최함을 기쁘게 생각합니다. 본 전시에서는 영국에서 부터 작업해 왔던 Energy 시리즈를 중심으로 음(陰)과 양(陽)이라는 동양적 에너지의 형상 개념을 발전시키면서 무거운 철판을 곡선을 강조하며 표현한 입체 설치를 통해 끊임없이 변화하고 유동하는 우주의 원리를 탐구하는 작가의 작품들을 만날 수 있습니다.

전시는 균일한 굵기와 곡면을 가지도록 철판을 제단하여 볼트로 이은 <에너지 시리즈>를 중심으로 작가의 생각을 보여줍니다. 단단하고 절대 잘리지 않을 듯한 철판을 정확히 같은 굵기로 잘라 오려서 하나의 형태를 완성하여 마치 얇은 색종이를 일정하게 가위로 잘라 전등장식처럼 만들었던 놀이와 같이 무거운 철판은 작가의 손을 거치면서 잘라지고 휘어지고 연결됩니다. 이 과정을 거치면서 리듬감을 가지는 철판 만들어지는 선의 흐름은 들리지는 않는 소리의 파동을 연상시킵니다.

작가는 <Energy>를 통해 예술가가 주변을 둘러싼 세상을 바라보고 이해하는 원리를 가시화 하는 시도를 제시합니다. 무거움과 가벼움, 반복과 차이들을 일정한 원리를 부여한 선들로 구성된 작품들은 바라보는 동안 관객에게 우리를 둘러썬 세상에 대해 질문을 던지도록 시간을 멈추어 놓은 듯 전시장을 메웁니다.

Hanmi Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition, titled Sacred Energy by artist Sungfeel Yun working with metallic sculpture installation. This exhibition is supported by Seoul Metropolitan Government, Seoul Cultural Foundation, and Art Council of Korea. This exhibition starts from the energy to understand the structure of world. In this show, Yun focus on Energy Series with the notion of oriental inner energy like yin and yang through spaces between the lines since he has worked in London in 2009. Add more his Energy series showing the principle of a lost center represents the characteristics of life through a visualization of the principle of an incessantly altering and flowing universe.

Sungfeel Yun(b.1977) lives and works in London and Seoul since 2007. He studied at Goldsmiths College, University of London, BA in Art practice. He received MFA at Slade School of fine art, University of London, in Sculpture. He has presented metallic moving sculptures in diverse way. He had several solo exhibitions including Cosmos+Chaos, the Crypt Gallery, 2009, and Apollonian/Dionysian, Art Work Space in London in 2010. He had a solo show Fields of Immersion in 2014. In recent, he exhibited Recognize human Being at Incheon Art Platform.
