한미갤러리-서울과 Space_ba421에서는 곽혜영(Space_ba421디렉터)의 기획으로 ≪말하지 않은 것들≫전을 개최한다. 이번 전시에서는 흔히 우리가 마주치는 현실에 대해 말하지 않은 것들에 주목한다. 전시에 참여하는 작가들은 자신의 둘러싼 환경, 사회, 현실에 관해 말하지 않았던 것들을 각자의 다른 관점들을 통해 시각적으로 구현한 미디어 작업들을 선보인다. 참여작가는 김정은, 전지인, 함혜경이다.

우리는 수많은 불행들을 매일 매일 마주하고 있다. 사회적으로 일어나는 사건들 뿐만 아니라 가족간의 사건들, 개인적인 불행까지 각종 미디어를 장악하며 새로이 등장한다. 신뢰가 깨어지고 경제적으로 어려움 등으로 인한 우울함이 우리 사회 전체를 뒤덮고 있다. 이런 사회를 2015년에는 ‘헬hell조선’이라고 명명하며, 더 이상 개인의 노력으로는 삶의 환경이 바뀌지 않는 구조를 가진 부조리한 사회임을 보여주고 있다. 전시에 소개된 작가들은 이러한 사회를 마주하면서 작가로서 사회의 일원으로 요구되었던 삶과 능력에 대해 그동안 말하지 않았던 것들을 개인적인 시선을 통해 말하고자 한다.

Hanmi Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition, titled Things left unsaid, curated by Justina Gwak (The director of Space_BA421). In the show, three artists (Hyekyung Ham, Juen jiin, Jungeun Kim) focus on what we did not say in daily life. They are working with mixed media and video installation to present their surrounding environment, society, and the reality in each point of their view.

We meet numerous unfortunates every day. They appear through several medias not only within many social incidents but also family members, even personal issues. We live in the society where is overspread by a crisis of credence and melancholia due to the hardship of the economy. We called this situation in Korea (South), the Hell Joseon, it shows that the life could not change as a personal effort anymore because it is an irrational society we are in. In this exhibition, three Korean artists present art works the things left unsaid, as a part of this society living through personal sight.
